The Pediatric Expert provides full-service pediatric medical-legal consulting for law firms in plaintiff and defense medical malpractice and personal injury matters. We work with a growing professional network of pediatric physicians and nursing professionals; each matter is scoped and participating professionals are individually identified before engagement. We do not provide patient care, medical advice to patients, legal representation, or legal advice.

Counsel starts with a single, nonconfidential inquiry. We run a conflict check and agree on scope, deliverables, and timeline before any substantive review.
Specialty fit first
We identify the clinical questions the case turns on and whether they call for a physician, a nursing professional, or both. Whether a specific expert can handle a matter is decided case by case.
Independent opinions
Each opinion belongs to a separately identified, qualified expert and follows the medical evidence — not the party that retained the expert.
Candid communication
Counsel hears plainly when the medical record does not support a position, on either side of a matter.
Founded by Ayush Gupta, MD
Dr. Gupta is board certified in Pediatrics & Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He maintains an active Pediatric Emergency Medicine practice at Children's Hospital of New Orleans.
He founded The Pediatric Expert to give counsel a clear, organized path to pediatric clinical expertise. He can provide his own opinion on pediatric emergency medicine questions. Other physician and nursing questions are handled by professionals in our network, matched case by case.
